The leather, for example, is Ecocuir cowhide, tanned without using chrome or synthetic dyes. It has a natural colour and gains a patina over time. The backhand of the glove is in hardwearing cotton/polyester fabric, waxed to withstand wind and moisture. But durability doesn't mean it's any less functional in the winter mountains. For example, the lining is removable and made in wool, nature's own functional material, wicking away moisture and warming even when damp. It is easy to wash and dry and you can swap linings in and out if switching between levels of activity. Heated panels keep hands comfortably warm* in cold winter weather. Made in flexible polyamide fabric so it easily slips into place inside the outer glove. A microfleece lining and G-Loft synthetic insulation provide comfortable initial heat. Specially designed to fit the Hestra’s Army Leather Heli Ski Mitt, it also works in many of Hestra’s other mittens with a high cuff and a detachable liner. The temperature adjusts in three steps via an easily accessible control on the cuff. HEATING TIME: Low: 8–10 hours, Medium: 4–5 hours, High: 2–2.5 hours. *NOTE: At highest power, the heat in the panels is close to body temperature, supporting the hand’s own warmth – this means they won’t feel “hot” against the skin. This additional heat combined with the insulation in the glove helps to keep fingers warm. The right size is important to ensure the heated panels work properly.
